President's Concert

Pavel Kolesnikov · piano

Born in Novosibirsk, Pavel entered the Moscow State Conservatoire in 2007 and was awarded the President’s Order Young Talent of Russia in that year. Presently he is studying at the Royal College of Music in London and has been introduced to us by the society’s honorary president, Melvyn Tan.

Pavel was winner of the 2012 Honens International Piano Competition, a prestigious Canadian accolade which nurtures lifelong artistic and professional development. His prize includes a debut concert at Carnegie Hall, for which his concert in Milverton will be a dry-run! As well as the better known pieces by Mozart, Schumann and
Beethoven, Pavel will be playing the wonderfully fiery ‘Vers la flamme’ by Scriabin as well as the post-Romantic Sonata No 4 by the same composer.

  • Mozart · Fantasy in C minor K. 475
  • Scriabin · Vers la flamme Op. 72
  • Scriabin · Sonata no. 4 in F sharp major Op. 30
  • Beethoven · Sonata No. 32 in C minor Op. 111
